Frequently Asked Questions

Short, direct answers. If yours is not here, ask us on WhatsApp.

How much does a water well cost?

A manual shallow well costs USD 170. An artesian well with a hand pump and an electric motor costs USD 370. These are the prices of the complete projects described on each well page.

What is included in the price?

Both wells include drilling and construction, pump installation, a plaque with the sponsor’s name, and photo and video documentation from the start of the project to its opening. The artesian well includes both the hand pump and the electric motor, with no extra charge for the included components.

How is the completed well documented?

The work is photographed and filmed from the beginning of construction until completion and opening. We send you the photos and videos so you can see your project. You may also ask us to revisit the well and document it again.

How long does construction take?

We estimate 8–9 days for a manual shallow well and 15–17 days for an artesian well. The actual time depends on the site and ground conditions.

Can I add a name to the plaque?

Yes. Tell us the name you would like on the plaque — yours, a parent’s, or a loved one’s. We confirm the exact wording with you before the plaque is made.

Where are the wells built?

All 69 documented wells to date are in Punjab, Pakistan. Our team identifies a village or area in need and selects a suitable site. If you have a preference, tell us on WhatsApp and we will say whether it is possible.

How does the warranty work?

The manual shallow well carries a 5-year warranty. If a problem arises during that period and it falls under Ghars Wells’ responsibility, we address it without charging the sponsor for the repair. For the artesian well, the warranty term is confirmed in writing with your project.

Can I commission a well from outside Pakistan?

Yes. Our work is designed for sponsors abroad. You choose a well, send your request through the website or WhatsApp, and we handle the project in Pakistan and send you the documentation.

How can I pay?

Our official online payment methods are being prepared and will be added once they are approved. Until then, we confirm your project with you and give you the official payment instructions directly. Please do not send money to any account you have not received from us through our official WhatsApp or email.

Is Ghars Wells a charity? Can I pay Zakat to it?

Ghars Wells is a brand operated by a private company, Anhar Original Contracting (Private) Limited. It is not a registered charity, does not issue tax-deductible receipts, and we do not make any claim about Zakat eligibility. Many people choose a well as a Sadaqah Jariyah — that is their intention; our role is to build, document and follow up the well.

Do you offer water tanks or wudu facilities?

Not yet. These are plans for the future. Today we offer the two well types shown on this website.
